Cheryl Ann Thomas uses the ancient method of coiling in her delicate porcelain works, Relics. Carefully balancing thin ropes of porcelain into unstable columns which fold and collapse within the kiln, these are then coupled and reconstructed in a second firing. Each piece retains Thomas's imprint and the relationship between human intervention and the nature of the material and technique used.
